Where can I find earlier versions of the United States Code (U.S.C.)? 

  • GPO's FDSys
    • Goes back to 1995
  • HeinOnline's United States Code
    •  PDF versions of the official U.S.C., printed ever six years, beginning in 1934. 
    • Also has earlier versions of federal codes and compilations of statutes
  • WestlawNext
    • Historical versions of the United States Code Annotated, beginning with 1990. Located under the "History" tab of a specific statutory section. 
  • LexisAdvance
    • Archived Code Versions available back to 1992. Click the "Archived Code Versions" link to the right of a specific statutory section.
